Snowshoeing
Please join us for wonderful guided snowshoe trips in Rocky Mountain National Park. The snowshoe trips are by private scheduling for your group. You may choose where and when you want to go. Besides being professional guides, we are also naturalists. So along the way we will teach you about the plants and animals of Rocky Mountain National Park.
Kaiyote Tours is authorized by the National Park Service, Department of Interior, to conduct services in Rocky Mountain National Park.
Cost: All prices include snowshoes and poles. 1 person $65; 2-3 people $45/per person; 4-6 people $40/per person; 7+ $35/per person.
Ages: Children under the age of 17 must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
Group Limit: Our snowshoe trips are private tours with no limit for the number in your group.
Snowshoe fee does not include your admission fee into Rocky Mountain National Park, which is $20 per week per vehicle.
Snowshoeing Suggested Routes
Starting at Bear Lake:
Around Bear Lake .75 mile (very easy)
Nymph Lake 1.2 miles round trip (easy)
Dream Lake 2.2 miles round trip (moderate)
Emerald Lake 3.6 miles round trip (moderate)
Starting at Glacier Gorge:
Alberta Falls 1.4 miles round trip (very easy)
Glacier Gorge 2.8 miles round trip (easy)
Mills Lake 5.0 miles round trip (moderate)
Loch Vale 5.4 miles roundtrip (moderate)
The Bear Lake and Glacier Gorge areas of Rocky Mountain National Park are some of the most spectacular and snowy places in the Park. Any choice of destination will be perfect.
Requirements
We hike slow, but please remember that our snowshoe hikes usually begin at 9,200 feet and some go as high as nearly 10,000 feet. Please choose a route that best suits your abilities.
What to Bring
1) Backpack for your gear
2) Water; 1 liter
3) Snacks
4) Sunscreen; for lips too
5) Hat and Gloves
6) Scarf/Ski Mask to cover face
7) Wind coat and Wind Pants
8) Sunglasses or Ski Goggles
9) Emergency Whistle
If you have a Park Pass or valid entrance receipt, please bring it along. If you do not have a pass, you may purchase a $20.00 vehicle pass at the entrance gate the day of the hike. The pass will be good for 7 days.
Wear
1) Layered comfortable clothes.
2) Be prepared for both warm and cold weather.
3) Be prepared for strong winds.
4) Shoes: Either hiking boots or winter boots. They need to be warm & waterproof.
We have outdoor clothing and gear that you can borrow if you need. Please ask.

Reservations
Advance reservations required. You will need to make your reservation and payment at least a day in advance. Please contact us or call 970-556-6103 for any questions you might have and to make your reservations.
Payment
We require a credit card to hold a reservation, we accept Visa and MasterCard.
Cancellation
You may cancel up to 24 hours in advance and receive a 100% refund. Cancellations within 24 hours will result in either the forfeiture of your payment or the payment can be used as credit towards a future booking.
